Michelle Johnson, M.S., LPCC (MN), LADC (MN), LPC w/Substance Abuse Specialization(WI)

Michelle Johnson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. She finished her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University.  She earned her Substance Abuse Specialization at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Recently, she completed her license to be a substance abuse counselor in Minnesota.

Michelle has been in private practice for nearly a decade and has been the Clinic Director of Winona Counseling Clinic, Inc. and Associates in Counseling, LLC.  Michelle specializes in working with children, families, couples and individuals.

Michelle enjoys spending her free-time with her family, friends and horses. She loves the outdoors--hiking, camping, hunting, riding horses, mountain biking and kayaking. She also plays several sports including her favorite, racquetball.

Jeff Buikema is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he earned his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. He completed his Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at Iowa State University.  He earned his Doctorate of Ministry from Covenant Theological Seminary.  He was in private practice for nearly 20 years before he joined the clinic in 2007. He is licensed to provide counseling with couples, families, and individuals.  His practice focuses on range of struggles including problems of anxiety, depression, stress, communication, conflict resolution, couple enrichment, sex abuse, substance abuse, anger management, grief and loss.  He specializes in couples and marriage counseling.

In his time off, Jeff enjoys training, trialing and hunting golden retrievers.  He is an avid trout and walleye fisherman. He also likes wildlife photography, gardening, reading, running and swimming.  He serves as a Cub Scout leader. 

Richard Dahl, M.A., LADC, LCSW, CSAC, ICS
Director and Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor

Richard Dahl joined the clinic in 1987 after several years in campus ministry and teaching, administration and counseling roles at various colleges and universities. Dick graduated with a Masters Degree in Human Development at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. He is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin to provide alcohol and drug assessments, education, counseling and treatment.

Dick is a member of the Sons of Norway. For leisure, he likes reading, music, cooking and traveling.

Stacey Bishofcky, MSW, LICSW (MN), LADC (MN)
APSW with Substance Abuse Specialization (WI)

Stacey Bishofsky received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Viterbo University. She completed her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Stacey is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin to provide alcohol and drug assessments, education, counseling and treatment. Stacey also has experience in working with adults diagnosed with Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders and children who have been diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, including Autism and Asperger's.

Stacey currently works with children who reside in foster care and specializes in working with those who have experienced emotional trauma and neglect.

In her free time, Stacey enjoys spending time outdoors and reading non-fiction such as history. Currently, she is particularly interested in reading about children and trauma. Stacey also enjoys her dogs and cats.

Lyle Hulsing , M.A., LP, L.I.S.C.W. (MN), L.C.S.W. (WI)

Licensed Psychologist & Licensed Social Worker

Lyle Hulsing graduated from St. Mary’s University with his M.A. degree in Counseling. He is a licensed Social Worker in Minnesota (L.I.S.C.W.) and in Wisconsin (L.C.S.W.). He is also a Licensed Psychologist in Minnesota (LP).

He most recently worked at Winona Health for two years as an outpatient therapist. He is currently serving as the clinical supervisor at Hiawatha Hall in Winona.

Lyle Hulsing has 25 years of experience doing individual, group, couple and family therapy. He is trained in E.M.D.R. and he utilizes Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

In his free time Lyle enjoys hiking, biking , kayaking, reading and cooking.

Mónica Revak, M.A., M.S.E., LADC, LSC.
Bilingual Mental Health Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, Licensed School Counselor

Mónica is originally from Colombia, South America. She worked as an attorney before coming to the United States. She has earned two Master Degrees, one in Spanish from the University of Wyoming, and the other in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Moreover, she obtained an endorsement in School Counseling from Winona State University.

Mónica is licensed in Minnesota to provide alcohol and drug assessments, alcohol education, counseling, and treatment. Mónica has experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She also has provided multicultural counseling at the college level and as K-12 school counselor.

“I am very blessed to be working in the counseling field. I have a passion for helping others through life´s trials and struggles. As a Christian, I have experience the power of a personal relationship with God. My focus is to follow God´s guidance in all aspects of life and to grow in the love and knowledge of God and assist in the healing process of others. Each person is a child of God, and has unique strengths. These strengths are cultivated and nurtured during therapy.¨

Mónica has lived in Winona for nearly 10 years. She is a Spanish instructor at Winona State University, an active member in her church, and a member of the Winona Human Rights Commission. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking, reading, bird watching, and traveling.
